User Interface and 3D Art for Game Jam Project (Party Looper)

Had a lot of fun doing a personal game jam project with UCSC alumni. The theme was “Loop” and the challenge was using only two colors. We chose hot pink (#ff3bbb) and dark blue (#101c88) to convey a party vibe and design that evokes Groundhog-day shenanigans.

For the first half of the project, I focused on designing and implementing UI with Illustrator and Unity, collaborating with programmers when I encountered any issues. I chose to use a chunky “friendly” looking font and rounded buttons to adhere to the color scheme and vibe and vision for our game.

For the second half of the project I created, implemented, and adjusted lighting for 3D assets with Blender and Unity. It was my first time creating furniture assets and I really enjoyed exaggerating the funky shape language. I also designed the “party jock” character, whose head reminds me of the Pokemon Mudkip.

Very proud of what our team was able to make in 2 weeks without crunching! You can play in-browser here! (5 minutes) https://jmgbassist.itch.io/party-looper
